Weta Workshops Design Department is made up of a team of talented artists, designers and creative minds. They are a team of inspirational thinkers who can create worlds, characters, environments, costumes, vehicles, weapons, cultures and fantastical mythologies.
The sculpting room at Weta is perhaps the one place where imagination most tangibly comes to life.
The word Make-Up may lead you to believe that this is about improving the look of something. Well, it is, in our own little way.
Weta's award winning specialty costumes don't happen by accident. There is a depth and breadth of knowledge and skills that is absolutely flabberghasting in the costuming department.

The Moulding department makes (in their own words) anything from scars and warts to tanks and cannons. That's a pretty wide brief.
For most of the amazing props, miniatures, costumes and vehicles that emerge from Weta, the final transformation is done by the talented crew in the Painting and Finishing department.
