David Meng

Designer/Sculptor

I'm originally from Michigan, in the U.S.. I was working in Los Angeles for a year and a half as a sculptor/illustrator, before meeting Richard Taylor at the 2004 Comicon in San Diego. About half a year later, Richard called me and asked if I wanted to join Weta Workshop, and of course, I did.

Prior to this, I took Dick Smith's Advanced Professional Make-up Course, and Dick really helped me to develop an eye for realism. I can say that he did a lot to help me break into the business.

Every day here is an opportunity to get better at what I do, which is pretty fun anyway, and it's a great way to make a living.
