Looking for a fun, screen-free activity to spark their imagination these school holidays? Our Junior Intro to Sculpting Workshop is the perfect way for young creators to explore the world of sculpture.
In this 60-minute session, children will learn how to shape and sculpt their very own three-dimensional creature using everyday materials like tinfoil and modelling clay. Young makers will create their own imaginative creature from scratch and take home at the end to add any special finishing touches they want. They'll gain new creative skills they can keep exploring long after the workshop ends.
Workshops are kept small to ensure lots of individual attention and support. Whether a budding artist or someone who just loves to make things with their hands, this is a fun and confidence-building creative experience.
Ideal for ages 6 to 11. All materials provided.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and guardians are FREE.

Our creative workshops are held at 129 Park Road, Miramar, Wellington.
Miramar is located a 20-minute drive from Wellington city centre.
Getting the bus? Catch the number 2 (Miramar) bus and get off at stop 6234 on Park Road. From there it’s a short stroll to 129 Park Road. Find out more on the Metlink website.
On street parking is free but limited. Please allow ample time to find a car park.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your workshop starts.
Yes and no! Your guide will let you know when you can use your camera. There are certain rooms of our tour and workshop space where photography is permitted, however there are some rooms where we ask for you to not take photographs. Wētā Workshop is an active workshop and photography is strictly prohibited in certain areas due to production requirements.
Yes! Our Junior creative workshops are recommended for children between 6 and 11 years.
This space is wheelchair accessible. We also have mobility parking spaces available. This venue does not have wheelchair accessible bathrooms.
