Directed by Jonathan King and filmed in New Zealand, the 2006 comedy horror Black Sheep tells the story of a farmer who’s been unethically conducting genetic experiments to create a sheep super-breed. Of course, all goes wrong in the wool shed. The sheep become mutant, bloodthirsty killers. The humans bitten by them do too.

Wētā Workshop was engaged in 2005 to work on the film’s gags and gore which relied heavily on prosthetics, makeup and creature effects. This included creating a selection of animatronic puppets and turning creature-suit performer Kevin McTurk into an eight-foot-tall were-sheep, which was built around his frame and realised with stilts and a fully articulated animatronic head.
