How to build a world in
a day
Mountains, forests, tiny villages - you can carve them all out of a single block of clay.
In this brand new school holiday workshop, you'll become a world sculptor. Using the same modelling clay used by our Wētā Workshop crew, you'll shape and carve your very own miniature landscape.

Build your world
Grab your sculpting tools - it's time to carve out a world of your own! In this 60-minute workshop, our crew will show you the sculpting tricks to make it happen.
What you'll learn
Real sculpting techniques, taught by our crew and used by the artists who build worlds for the big screen:
How to carve away material to shape hills, cliffs and valleys
How to add texture, so rock looks like rock and bark looks like bark
How to build up details like trees, rocks, buildings and pathways
How to think like a world-builder - where does the path lead? Who lives here?
Build a world, or build a realm
Every world block connects to the others. Bring your friends or whānau, and at the end you can piece your blocks together into one big shared world made entirely by you.
Then take your finished world block home as a collectible piece. Come back and sculpt another to grow it bigger.
No experience needed, all tools and materials provided.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and guardians are FREE.
Every great world needs a maker. Ready?
