School holiday workshop
In this hands-on clay sculpting workshop, young creators learn the real techniques creature designers use to build characters from scratch – shape, texture, exaggeration and pure creative chaos. Is your monster sneaky or powerful? Slimy of spiky? A shark-spider hybrid with a grudge? You decide.
Guided by the Unleashed crew, young makers will sculpt their own original creature in this 60-minute workshop and discover that every epic monster starts with a great idea.
And what happens in the lab...goes home with you!
No experience needed. No rules. Just imagination.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and guardians are FREE.

Level 5, 88 Federal Street, Auckland
Opposite the Sky Tower.
For public transport options, please visit the Auckland Transport website.
The eternal question for intergalactic travellers! While we currently don’t offer dedicated spacecraft parking, we do have plenty of terrestrial car parking options at SkyCity. If your craft is taller than 2.1 metres or has a cloaking device, we recommend teleporting down.
We also offer SkyCity parking validation for anyone who purchases a tour, creative workshop or spends over $49 on retail in the Wētā Cave. Validation will reduce the hourly rate of parking.

We require that all children be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire duration of the workshop. It is a requirement that a responsible adult remains present at all times — children must not be left unattended under any circumstances. This ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Yes! Photography is welcomed at Wētā Workshop Unleashed.
Yes! Our Monster Mischief Lab workshop is suitable for children aged 6 to 14 years.
Some
materials used throughout our tour and workshops may trigger allergic reactions in some
guests. These materials include latex, silicone and foam. Please email us if
you have any questions.
Yes, we have rentable lockers available for you to store any medium to large sized bags, including suitcases, starting from $4. You can store your luggage up to 24 hours.
