Spring school holiday
creative workshop
Roll up your sleeves and grab your sculpting tools - it's time to bring a beast to life! In this 60-minute workshop, our crew will show you how to take a lump of clay and turn it into something with teeth.
What you'll learn
Real sculpting techniques, taught by our crew and used by the artists who bring creatures to life for the big screen:
How to build a 3D creature – your hands will be covered in clay and you’ll love it!
How to add texture, so a smooth surface turns into scales, spikes or slime
How to sculpt the ‘good’ scary bits – claws, fangs, horns
How to think like a creature designer – where does it lurk? What does it eat?
Make a monster, or make a monster mob
Monsters like company. Bring your friends or whānau, and at the end you can gather your creatures up together into one glorious, gruesome mob that nobody else in this world could have made.
Your monster comes home with you!
No experience needed, all tools and materials provided.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents and guardians are FREE.
"I loved the experience and had great fun. Our instructor was amazing to work with, always helping and figuring out how to work with our ideas. Thank you for the experience."
